10th Anniversary Open House and Pics!

We recently hosted an Open House to celebrate our 10th Anniversary of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork LLC! We had so much fun chatting with everyone, giving away prizes, and providing Posture Assessments and Make Your Own Young Living Bath Salt Soaks! Before the Open House, we had the chance to take some team pictures with Kim McDonald, KM Behind the Lens! Check out the fun pics here!

March Honoree: Brian Edwards

One way we’re celebrating is to honor you, our clients. Each month we will highlight a 10th Anniversary Honoree(s); a client of ours that has been integral to our success and that represents and fully supports the fabric of everything we believe.

brian champion The March 10th Anniversary Honoree(s) is Brian Edwards! Brian Edwards is one of the most dedicated and hardest working men, father, and athlete I know. Quality, compassion, and dedication are just a few of the characteristics he represents and that we value as a team. He is a 40 year old father of five beautiful girls and married to an amazing woman, Jennie Edwards. He tells me that “she never ceases to amaze me!” His girls are 9, 7, 5, 2, and 6 months in age.  They also have another little girl in heaven that would be 10 years old.

In his own words, “With owning my own State Farm Insurance business and having five children, life is extremely hectic.  As a competitive grappler I have really felt, seen, and fully experienced the benefits of massage therapy.  I do not get the opportunity to come see Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork as much as I need to, but when I do, the difference is instantaneous! In my free time, I train for and compete in grappling competitions all over the country. I train at Swamp Fox Jiu Jitsu located at 3426 West Palmetto in Florence, SC.” And man, does he really compete! This guy is fierce! Please note pics below.

We are so humbled to be able to work with and honor Brian Edwards this month! Please help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary by honoring him and take a minute to watch his The Body Works! LLC Celebrity Debut video, too.

February Honoree: Sue Edwards

One way we’re celebrating is to honor you, our clients. Each month we will highlight a 10th Anniversary Honoree(s); a client of ours that has been integral to our success and that represents the fabric of everything we believe.

Our First 10th Anniversary Honoree(s) is Sue Edwards! She has been a client of mine (Sarah) for 10 years – to be exact! That seems like such a long time but has gone by so quickly. She began her bodywork therapy when the business was still home-based and moved with us as we grew. She enjoys fostering Boston Terriers and travelling with her husband. Her crazy, favorite memories were serving as a guinea pig for my newly, learned Rossiter technique where the therapist provides bodywork with their feet while the client lies on a yoga mat on the floor. It really is good bodywork, but she kept saying I was stepping on her. Who would have thought! LOL!

Please help us celebrate our 10th Anniversary by honoring her and take a minute to watch her Celebrity Debut video, too.

She will be receiving a gift basket filled with a gift certificate for a pair of Earrings from The Earring Lady and one for a 60 minute massage from TMandB, a TMandB T-shirt, goodies, and more. Thanks to Sweet Serenity for wrapping it up.

Free Aromatherapy Upgrade for February!

2015-02-02 09.54.12All therapeutic massage sessions come with a free aromatherapy upgrade of this month’s blend: Ylang-Ylang and Orange. Together these two provide a soothing combination perfect for all the romance that February may bring! Choose to take home a bottle of the blend and use at your leisure for only $6. Just let your therapist know before your session if you would like to use it.

Ylang YlangYlang ylang (Cananga odorata) has a sweet, soft, flowery fragrance that has made it a romantic favorite. In Indonesia, the petals are often strewn across a marriage bed. This calming oil is effective in bringing about a sense of relaxation, and it may help with releasing feelings of anger, tension, and nervous irritability. It has a long history in skin and hair care products, particularly in Asia, where it is used to promote luxuriant hair.

orange picOrange (Citrus sinensis) essential oil has a rich, fruity scent that lifts the spirit while providing a calming influence on the body. Orange brings peace and happiness to the mind. It is rich in the powerful antioxidant d-limonene and aids in maintaining normal cellular regeneration. Orange may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Young Living Essential Oils

We are officially part of the Young Living Essential Oil family and we love it so far. They make is so easy to understand and have some very beneficial blends, like Thieves, Peace & Calming and Valor. I love this way of helping my family’s and clients’ health naturally. We have been diffusing Peace and Calming and the Christmas blends in the office and my own home. Wonderful!

Recent researchers have shown that inhalation of lavender decreases anxiety (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25389481) and massage with aromatherapy decreased women cancer patients’ treatment symptoms and improved quality of life (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25157942). This is the stuff we get geeked about!
